Here at Treasured Paws Hamster Rescue we are dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for hamsters in need. We work tirelessly to ensure that each hamster receives the care and attention they deserve. Our mission is to match each hamster with the perfect family, ensuring a happy and healthy life for both hamster and owner.

Our rescue is based in Hook, Hampshire and we can facilitate surrenders and rehoming through Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
OUR STORY
Treasured Paws HR was founded in January 2021 and was born out of our love of hamsters, more specifically a little Roborovski named Rex.
While scrolling through shpock one day I saw an advert for two Roborovski hamsters in terrible conditions. I knew I couldn't keep scrolling without helping these boys so I set about getting them picked up. On intake the boys were worse than expected, without water or appropriate bedding and a cage saturated with mouldy hay. One of the hamsters was much smaller than the other and after giving him a health check I soon found he had new and old bite wounds all over his body from his cage mate.
We found a new loving home for the healthy one of the two and the injured little guy stayed with us for some TLC. We fell head over heels in love with the hamster we later named Rex. Rex transformed from a scared, skittish hamster into one that truly trusted and enjoyed our companionship. Through our experience with Rex and his brother we realised what a difference we could make to hamsters in our local area, even if it was just a few hamsters at a time. Since our first rescue we have helped over 50 hamsters find safe forever homes with loving families and of course a few of them ended up staying with us too!
